This is a little web project that I worked on in March 2009. In the nutshell, MAP2Café is founded by passionate coffee-lover and traveller, Mario. This community-driven website, built by coffee-lovers for coffee-lovers, features worldwide cafés with ratings and reviews, and aims to be the place for travellers to share their favourite hangout spots and travel discoveries.

So, Mario was sharing with me that he had the idea of creating this site few years back and decided that it’s time for him to put this into action. I gave a couple of suggestions on how he can get started, and proposed a few logo ideas and business card designs. Then, Mario decided to offer me the opportunity to create MAP2Café.com and I did. The website was launched end of May 2009, and has since grown to have more than 100 cafe listings from all over the world, contributed by Mario and coffee lovers. The site is built on Joomla, it’s clean and simple, and fulfills the necessary requirements. We hope to extend its capabilities down the road though.

To promote MAP2Café, I drafted a press release to announce the launch of the website and I am delighted to say that MAP2Café managed to get some news coverage, which include Travel Mole and an interview opportunity with Business Times.
